VPN Setup Guide
Subscriptions and Connections

First set up your account and plan in the user dashboard, then import your subscription into the client for your device. Follow the steps in order, or skip any you've already completed.

Create an account and sign in

Open the VPNHY user dashboard below and enter a username and password on the account creation page. No email address is required; you'll use this username and password to sign in later. Choose a username that's easy to remember but distinct from those you use on other sites, and use a unique password. Before submitting, check your entries carefully so a typo doesn't become your saved sign-in information.

When you're done, follow the prompts to open the account overview. If you're still on the sign-in page, log in with the username and password you just saved. Make sure the overview opens correctly before choosing a plan. Creating an account and activating a plan are separate steps: being able to sign in doesn't mean you have data available, and seeing a configuration in the client doesn't mean your plan is active.

Keep your sign-in details somewhere secure; don't leave your password on a temporary note or a shared device. If you have trouble signing in, check the username spelling, keyboard input settings, and whether the password includes extra spaces. For account help, see the Help Center rather than creating another account.

Choose a Plan and Place Your Order

After signing in, open the plans section and decide between a monthly subscription and a data package. Monthly subscriptions suit regular use, with data resetting each month on the activation date. Data packages are suited to occasional use: they last until the data runs out and never expire. Compare billing terms and data allowances, not just the listed prices.

Monthly subscriptions: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packages: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. All plans support unlimited simultaneous devices, but data use across devices still depends on your account's allowance. Unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data. See the Plans page for full pricing and details.

Once you've chosen a plan, create an order as prompted in the dashboard. Check the plan, amount, and billing terms, then pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. Don't assume an order is complete just because the payment page opened. After paying, return to the user dashboard and check the order result and plan status in the account overview. If the payment page shows success but the dashboard hasn't updated, refresh the status and check the existing order before trying again.

VPNHY offers a 60-day money-back guarantee; see the Terms of Service for how to request a refund. If you upgrade a monthly subscription mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Before changing plans, review the change details shown in the dashboard. Once the plan and data allowance in your overview look right, continue to get your subscription.

Get Your Subscription from the Account Overview

Open the account overview in the user dashboard and find the subscription section. You'll need to be signed in, so make sure you're using the account where you activated your plan. The subscription link lets the client load the server configurations available to your account. It's not a regular web address or a client installer; pasting it into a browser usually won't import it into the client.

If the dashboard offers an import option for your installed client, follow the prompts to open the app and confirm the import there. If your system can't find an app to handle the link, install the client first, then try again from the dashboard. You can also copy the subscription link and paste it manually into an option such as “Import from link” in the client. This makes it easier to confirm you're using the right menu.

After copying the link, don't edit its path or parameters, or add notes, quotation marks, or line breaks. Subscription links may contain account-specific information, so keep them private and don't post them in public forums or publicly accessible documents. If you contact support, share the error message and steps you took; there's no need to include the full subscription link.

Open Account Overview

Import the client on your device

Open the downloads section in the user dashboard and choose the VPNHY client for your device. Clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux are available after signing in. For iOS, check the dashboard for download eligibility and instructions. Install the client before importing your subscription. For everyday use, open the client directly; you generally won't need to copy the link again.

Get the Client

Windows: Add a subscription from the configuration menu

Choose the Windows desktop client in the dashboard and install it by following the prompts. Open the menu for managing subscriptions or configurations, then choose an option such as “Add,” “Import,” or “Import from link.” Paste the subscription link you copied from the account overview into the link field. If the client lets you name the configuration, use a label that's easy to recognize. The name is only for your reference; don't change the link itself.

Save the subscription and refresh it. Once the server list loads, select the imported configuration as the active one. If the dashboard's quick-import option has already opened the client successfully, check that the configuration appears instead of adding it again manually. When connecting for the first time, follow the client's prompts to grant any required system permissions. Check proxy mode and the connection toggle together in the final verification step.

macOS: Confirm the active configuration after importing

Get the macOS desktop client from the dashboard and open it. Add the link from the subscription or configuration management menu in the main window or menu bar. If quick import from the dashboard only opens the app, check for an import confirmation and save the configuration before refreshing it. An open app doesn't necessarily mean the configuration has been imported; check the subscription and server lists.

After importing, select the configuration and check that server options appear. The first time you connect, macOS may ask you to approve network permissions; follow the system and client prompts. You don't need to change your device's overall security settings to import a subscription. If you switch networks while using the client, check its connection status before reconnecting.

Android: Paste the link in subscription management

Sign in to the dashboard to get the Android client. Install and open it, then go to subscription or configuration management and choose the option to add a link. Save and refresh the subscription, select the configuration, and choose a region from the server list. When you connect for the first time, Android will ask for permission to set up a network connection. Check which app is requesting access, then confirm.

If tapping the import option in your browser doesn't switch to the client, return to the dashboard, copy the link, and import it manually. If the connection often drops when you switch to another app, check whether your system restricts the client's background activity or battery use. Settings names vary by device; see Connection and Troubleshooting Help for details. You don't need to adjust these settings one by one during the initial import.

iOS: Get and import the client as instructed in the dashboard

Check the iOS client section in the dashboard and follow its prompts to confirm download eligibility; don't assume the process is the same as on other platforms. Once you have the client, use the matching import option in the dashboard. If prompted to open the client, confirm, then review and save the configuration in the app. If the client supports adding a link manually, you can paste the subscription address there instead.

After saving the configuration, refresh the subscription, choose a server, and connect. The first time you connect, follow the system prompt to allow the VPN configuration, then return to the client and check its connection status. If quick import doesn't work, check that the client is installed and that you've selected the right import option. Don't keep reopening the subscription link in your browser. Once imported, you can usually switch servers within the client.

Linux and other devices

VPNHY also supports Linux. Sign in and get the appropriate client from the downloads section, then import the subscription and refresh the configuration as prompted. The general process is the same across platforms: add the subscription, refresh the server list, then connect. If an option has a different name in your client, look for the equivalent function rather than changing system settings based on a menu label.

Connect to a Server and Check That It Works

Once the server list appears, choose a server that meets the region requirements of the service you want to use, then turn on the client's connection. For your first connection, keep the client's default routing rules and check that the basic connection works before making changes. A nearby region won't necessarily suit every use case. If a service has region requirements, check its official guidance and confirm the exit region shown in the client.

When the client reports a successful connection, open the website or app you want to use. Check that pages load and that you can complete the usual tasks, such as signing in and loading content. A connected status only indicates that the connection process has reached a certain state; it doesn't prove that all app traffic is being handled as expected. If websites work but a particular app doesn't, check that app's network route and region requirements first.

When testing streaming services or AI tools, distinguish network access from service eligibility. Account region, subscription status, platform policies, and how the exit IP is classified can all affect the result. No server can guarantee ongoing access to a specific service. For ongoing use and developer setup involving tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, see the Complete AI Guide. This page covers basic connections, not network fundamentals.

If the connection doesn't work as expected, first check your plan and data status in the account overview. Then refresh the subscription in the client and confirm that the right configuration is selected. Next, choose another server and check the client's connection toggle, system proxy, and network permissions. Change one thing at a time and check the result before continuing. This makes it easier to tell whether the issue is an outdated subscription, an unsuitable server, or the app's own access requirements.

If you still need help, note your device platform, the exact error shown in the client, the step where the issue occurred, and whether it affects all websites. Then sign in to the dashboard and send the details through the support ticket portal. Hide your subscription link and sensitive account details in screenshots. Keep an eye on your data allowance, and refresh the subscription when the dashboard prompts you about configuration changes. There's no need to repeatedly delete and recreate a configuration that has already imported successfully.
